Rapido HO 206003 Toronto G-Class Subway A-B Set, Toronto Transit Commission #5098, 5099 (Standard DC)

The Rapido Trains HO Scale Toronto G-Class Subway is based on Toronto'sfirst subways entering service in 1954. It all started in 1951, when theToronto Transit Commission contracted the Gloucester Railway Carriage andWagon Company in the UK to build the cars for Canada s first subway. Theoriginal line ran under Yonge Street from Union Station in the south toEglinton Avenue in the north, opening on March 30th, 1954. This line isstill in service today as the southern half of TTC s Line 1. These uniquerapid transit cars featured bold red paint with yellow stripes both aboveand below the large The Rapido models feature prototypically accuratedetails and are sold in married pairs or as a four-car set, with all carspowered. Designs were created from original factory drawings and fieldmeasurements. The models feature fully detailed interiors including seats,hand holds and lighting; working lights: headlights, rear marker lights,destination sign, fully detailed underbodies and wire grab irons.
