Atlas custom line turnouts are well-made, except for the throw bar…. The injection molding process of the throw bar leaves two indentations in the bottom, which results in very thin material at these areas. In these two spots in the throw bar material is very thin. Extreme care should be taken if you want to add a ground throw to the switch…. If you are using an under the table switch motor, this is .If you are using a under the table switch motor, this is not a problem because the wire from the switch motor will come up through the center hole of the throw bar.

Woodland Senics has found a new way to use their stack truck again. This will go nicely with the era of my layout in the 1920-1940s.

I really like this period piece. It is very well made, though shipping shook the folded-up top off its base. It went back on easily.
I have an earlier Christmas Market kit; this one looks to be much better. It comes with lighting that was missing from the older kit. I got this one to update my train.

The Atlas code 83 custom line wye Turnout suffers from the same problem as the other custom line code 83 Turnouts…. The injection molding of the throw bar has indentations on the underside of it from the molding process in two spots. Therefore making the throw bar very thin and weak in these areas and susceptible to snapping off very easily if it is not handled with great care. This makes it very difficult to add a ground throw without breaking the throw bar. If you are using a under the table switch motor, this does not present a problem due to the fact that the wire from the switch motor comes up through a hole in the middle of the throw bar.

The safety instruction car is very nice. It has great detail and a very sharp paint job. It also rolls freely. I am very happy with it.
I am not satisfied with the switch at all….
The throw bar is very fragile. Particularly the molding process used to make the throw bar is very flimsy due to indentations in the molding. With very little handling, the throw bar broke right off where you would need to attach a ground throw. I will not be buying these switches in the future.
BLI HO ARA 70-ton 4-Bay Hopper looks good and operates nicely. MTS has great customer service. MHB
