Circuitron 800-6100 Remote Tortoise Mount

I have purchased this unit to be used in conjunction with a gate lift and Tortoise motor. I know it will work well as I have used many of Circuitrons' products in the past and have never been disappointed!

This item is was necessary for automating a turnout Id placed in a poorly thought out location. The clearances were too tight for standard Tortoise application so I decided to try the remote mount. Now that it is installed, I can say I am very happy with the performance. In fact, it seems to put more tension on the points than the traditional mount under the throw-bar would. However, if your turnout is in a hard to access location, you my not have any better luck with the remote mount. The installation still requires some intricate work at the points and I had much difficulty completing the tasks required (marking/drilling/screwing/cutting). The install took me a few hours to complete and I was very near to the point of moving the turnout entirely. I have to say that the mechanism is pretty forgiving. My craftsmanship was certainly short of textbook but to my surprise the mechanism works flawlessly.

Thisd is my second install. I would not be able to install the tortoise without it. Tight spots are a snap.

Great for flexibility and clearance challenges! Also saves a ton on current draw by cutting the number of switch machines for tortoises in half!
