The SD70ACe finally gets the N scale treatment it deserves.
EMD built the SD70ACe between 2004 and 2014 as the successor to the SD70MAC. A 16-710-G3C-T2 prime mover making 4,300 horsepower, 157,000 lbf of continuous tractive effort and 191,000 at starting — on a redesigned underframe, with the wide radiator, lowered center hood and rear dynamic brakes that make it unmistakable from thirty feet away.
The cab came off the late SD90MAC-H. In 2008 EMD standardized the isolated version after non-isolated cabs were barred from leading BNSF trains for excessive vibration — which is exactly the kind of detail Broadway Limited chose to model rather than average out.
Broadway Limited cut six separate variation axes into this run so each road number matches the real thing:

Three cab roof designs
Two blower vent layouts
Underneath: an ABS body over a die-cast chassis for maximum tractive effort, a precision drive built for heavy towing, all-wheel pickup, separately applied handrails, grab irons and bell, Micro-Trains-compatible couplers, and operation on Code 55, 70 and 80 rail down to a 9" radius.

The ones people came for: Norfolk Southern's 1230 "Birmingham" and 1231 "Atlanta" Office Car Specials, the D&H Heritage unit #1080, and Union Pacific's "The Spirit" #1943. Alongside them: Kansas City Southern's Veterans Day Salute, Canadian National, Florida East Coast, New York Susquehanna & Western, the EMD demonstrator, and the US Navy and US Air Force fantasy schemes.
Most schemes come in both sound and non-sound versions, and several are already down to the last one or two. When a road number sells out here it does not come back — this is a production run, not a catalog item.
