About this model
The Pennsylvania built exactly one S1. Altoona completed #6100 in December 1938, and at just over 140 feet with its tender it was the longest reciprocating steam locomotive ever built, wrapped in a Raymond Loewy shell. Clearances kept it on the Fort Wayne Division between Crestline, Ohio and Chicago, where it pulled the Broadway Limited, the Liberty Limited, the Trail Blazer, the General and the Golden Arrow on 84-inch drivers. It was scrapped in 1949.
This one carries no lettering, so you decide whose S1 it is.
This version: Stealth Series, No-Sound and DCC-Ready. Want sound and smoke from the factory? See the Paragon4 version.
Pairs well with
Letter it for your own railroad, or for a second S1 the Pennsy never built.
